MCA #5, Saturday Afternoon

It was a perfectly ordinary Saturday afternoon.

In Sarah's case that meant slouching on the sofa, watching bad TV, and texting Jenny her comments on how stupid some Americans were. Oh, and also about when she was going to come to London next. But mostly the stupid.

She lived a simple kind of life and she liked it, thank you very much. Right at this second, anyway.

"The students are already broken," she replied, not sounding like she particularly cared right now, to be honest. "Guess I can try not feeding them to the deer, though."

Or y'know, spreading false gossip about them to the deer, or something.

"So when is it that you're actually leaving?"

"Well, don't let them give you any shit then." Guy pulled her hand over closer, looking down at where they touched. "Tomorrow. Long flight back to the middle of the friggin' universe."

Sarah hoped he realized he probably wasn't going to get out of this apartment before he absolutely had to go. If he hadn't packed yet, that was his problem, not hers.

She rubbed her thumb against his hand, not really looking. "Yeah, sounds like a long way."

Sarah glanced over at him like she was annoyed at him for saying that. The weirdo.

"I love you."

There, she'd said it. Better late than never, right?

She kissed him back, because the most likely option apart from that was possibly crying.

Which almost inevitably led to hitting people, because she didn't cry in front of people. Hitting them was much more productive.
