Il Pollo, Tuesday Evening

The thing about choosing date attire while your apartment was full of pollen was that sometimes you ended up in a dress that you were kind of a little too boobtastic for. But sometimes these things couldn't be helped. Because sometimes it was way too late to go back and change once you realized the error of your fashion ways, and you just had to own it.

Also, she did look great in it. Try to contain yourselves, Il Pollo customers.

"Well, here we are," she told her date, once they'd entered. Because she was perhaps even worse at talking while on a date than she was at dressing for one.

Although mind you, Jenny would've also probably done the heart-dot thing if her name had allowed it.

"I'd say she'd at least have to be over twenty-one, but I've seen the bars here."

"'S not an age thing, it's an attitude thing, anyway," Sarah noted over the edge of her glass. "The heart sounds... gushy."

"Which is something most--not all--people grow out of." Unless Captain America was involved where he was from. No one was safe from it. So many fanboys/girls. "Especially after they actually meet the object of their affection."

[electrocynic]

"Eh." She shrugged. Sipped her drink. "Anyway, did you ever manage to handle Satan's radio?"

"Well, Strange took it and hasn't returned any of my phone calls, so it's possible he's fighting on some demonic plane to save it."

He said it like a joke. It was not.

[electrocynic]

Yeah, the little beat that passed before Sarah replied said she wasn't entirely sure of it, either.

"Well, it hasn't popped back in my office yet, so that's good."

HIS LIFE WAS A LITTLE WEIRD FOR FIRST DATE MATERIAL, OKAY?

"I'd say I can't believe, but this place likes to do that to us "

"Yeah, you sort of end believing every bloody stupid thing, 'round here." Trust her, she'd been here for waaay too long already. "'S giving me a severely warped concept of normal."

"Here I would have thought going by Electroclash would have done that," Tony said, leaning closer.

[electrocynic]

Her smirk was a little crooked. "That's been around so long it is my normal."

In fact, with each passing year she got a little more reluctant to tell people just how long it had been.

But she wasn't really thinking about that right now. That lean might've had something to do with it.

That lean was devious, it was true.

"Really? Where I'm from, most 'capes' have only seemed to appear in the past few years."

He totally added to the devious nature with a hand on her knee.

[electrocynic]

Yeah that was not helpful at all. was he aware of how warm his hand was? Because sarah definitely was.

Still, she snorted. "Please. Even my parents were capes."

Excuse you, he was perfectly aware how warm Sarah was instead.

"Family legacy? Harsh," he replied in complete understanding about that.

[electrocynic]

"It's not so bad," she rasped as she mirrored his lean after a moment. "'Less you want to get too fixated on how obviously I didn't fit in with the expectations."

"Ooo, I could write a book on that one," Tony assured her. The leaning dud great things for her cleavage after all.

[electrocynic]

But of course.

"Good, because I'm far too committed to failing to meet any expectation to do that," she replied, because sarcastic bitterness went great with showing off cleavage.

Because while it had been an accidental by-product of the leaning at first, there was definitely a slight undertone of purposefulness to it now.

Which was making having this conversation really difficult, Sarah.

Tony licked his lips and took a sip of his god awful sugary drink. Look at him having self control. "That certainly commitment."

[electrocynic]

This was a very bad week for self control.

"It's about the only thing I'm committed to." She shrugged. "Well, that and enjoying myself, I s'pose."

It was the worst.

"Yeah?" Oh thank god, something he couldn't feel a little sad about. "I can always drink to that," Tony said, holding his glass for a toast.

[electrocynic]

Sarah held up her own glass, and what was left in it. "Hear hear."

"Alright," Tony said, downing his own drink and clearing his throat. "You've been on this island longer than me. Considering the week, is it too forward to ask if you'd like to come back to--"

Wait, awkward.

"Your place?"

[electrocynic]

Snort. "It's not too forward." Shocker. Like her smug look, too. "Impress me and I'll even let you stay the night for more in the morning."

Not generally her thing, but it was this week.

That made Tony laugh at least. "Oh, I do love to impress people."

[electrocynic]

"Good."

She was not going to mention how sometimes she could be so impressed she short-circuited nearby electronics. Instead, she just put her empty glass down.
