Another week, another day of Electroclash somehow managing to make it into her office on time to spend the day there. Granted, she'd been meaning to come in yesterday rather than today, but it was the thought that counted!

Some more random emails had gone out from the administration, asking students to visit the counselor. While she waited to see whether anyone was going to show up, Electroclash was using her powers to spam Alex's email. It was so easy! All she had to do as say, |computer send email| repeatedly, and then wait for her phone to start blowing up with whiny texts.

She continued to be a great role model.

"Hi, nice to meet you, but I didn't even do anything," Juliet said, sounding annoyed as she appeared at Electroclash's office door. "Can we make this fast?"

"Sure," Electroclash drawled, leaning back in her chair. "If you think that's all it's gonna take. And for the record, you do't have to have been getting up to anything naughty to end up here."

"Really?" Juliet asked, stepping in and claiming a seat. "So -- why did you want me to come here? Please don't tell me I have to pick colleges to apply to."

She did, but she wasn't ready to think about it yet.

"Nah, the emails are just going out at random." Hey, it was no secret! "The administration figures everyone here is fucked up enough from all the invasions and things to use some checking up on every once in a while."

"That's sweet," Juliet said, sounding a little dubious. "I guess I'm fine? But ... maybe it was a little weird to be pregnant a couple weekends back. Like, what happened to the baby after I went back to normal?"

Electroclash waved a dismissive hand. "Best not to think about that. I didn't." Of course, she'd been too busy boggling at having been a pregnant nun, anyway. "There was never a baby. It was just... the island messing 'round with your mind."

"Okay, but then I wish it would stop doing that," Juliet whined. "I mean, sometimes it's interesting, like the pony thing, but there's no reason I had to know what being pregnant feels like. Even if the baby's just pretend."

Electroclash raised her eyebrows.

"You thought the pony thing was interesting?"

"Uh, yeah," Juliet said. "I looked awesome. Especially after I accessorized. And I hardly missed my hands."

"... Clearly, you're not a smoker." So, guess what Electroclash had spent a good deal of her ponytime trying to do? "Which is good, probably, or at least I'm supposed to say that. But how did you accessorize with fucking hooves?"

"You just get used to it?" Juliet explained. "I couldn't put on lipstick, but I kind of shuffled a scarf around with my feet until it tied and then put my head through it. And then my nails -- hooves, whatever -- and jewelry were easy. It's just about being patient."

Electroclash gave her a look like she'd never heard the term 'patience' before. And come on, she was dating Guy Gardner and she was pretty sure even he thought she was a bit impatient.

"Well, you're adaptable, I'll give you that."

"Thank you," Juliet smiled sincerely. "I think it's because I really try not to obsess when something bad happens, you know? I just learn to live with it."

That actually seemed like a solid enough approach. Huh. "Personally, I'm more in favour of bitching," Electroclash shrugged. "But I guess that works too. Either way, there's exactly fuck-all you can do about it."

"I graduate in six months," Juliet volunteered. "And then we're going back to New York where all the weird stuff is fun. So, the way I figure it is that I'm almost done."

She gave Electroclash a sympathetic look. "Too bad teachers don't graduate."

Electroclash looked somewhat offended by this sympathy. Sorry. "Hey, I could've left at the end of the summer when my community service time was up!"

Well it wasn't like it was any kind of secret she'd been sent here as punishment. She'd always been quite open about that. She was less likely to comment on how much Guy had to do with her decision to stay, though.

"Not everyone wants to flee, even if the island is fucking off its rocker."

"Wait, what did you get community service for?" Juliet asked, shrugging off the offended look and Electroclash's larger point like so much hot air.

Rude, Juliet. Electroclash rolled her eyes and leaned back in her chair again. "Things that weren't my fault," she rasped. "Let's leave it at that, lest you get poor influence off it."

Not that the girl seemed to have powers or anything. Also, Electroclash really didn't care.

"That's totally like how I ended up here," Juliet said, and launched into a minutes-long monologue about how every decent private school in New York was embroiled in a conspiracy against the Darling twins. "...so, see, none of it was our fault, but we're still stuck here."

Not that she'd tried so hard to transfer back home, lately.

Electroclash stopped listening about halfway through.

"I'm sorry, all I heard was that you probably have too much money," she said, once it seemed Juliet had finished. "And... possibly a brother?"

"I have a twin here," Juliet confirmed. "...and two older brothers, but they're boring. Anyhow, it's not our fault other people are poor."

Electroclash snorted, and quirked an eyebrow. "Probably not your personal accomplishment that you're rich, either."
