MCA #5, Tuesday Morning

Waking up with someone else in her bed was nothing new to thirty-something Sarah, especially these days. Meanwhile, sleeping in was nothing new for teenaged Sarah, who was the one actually rolling over in bed right now.

Put these two together, and –– "Who the fuck are you?"

Fun fact, her accent was even more pronounced as a teenager. That one word was definitely 'fook', no doubt about it. Also, because there was a bit of an electrical crackle to the end of that sentence, her poor digital alarm clock reset itself to midnight.

So, this day was off to a great start.

Hey, it was totally a useful fall, at least! In the sense that it amused Sarah enough to actually laugh in a distinctly un-sympathetic way.

"If it'll make you leave, yes. I'm a fucking psycho, mate."

"Why the hell do I have to leave?" Possibly because it wasn't his place. But those were minor details.

"Why would you stay?"

Possibly because he was very very dumb.

Guy looked down at himself, pulling up the corner of blanket that was covering him. "Maybe because some crazy girl has my clothes." That might be a reason.

"Eww." She looked sufficiently revolted by the implication. "I don't have whatever rags you showed up in, you can find them yourself."

Hey, Guy was taking this as confirmation that he got laid. It was awesome.

"Buyers remorse," he said smugly, wrapping the blanket around himself. Even though he had boxers on.

Sarah was taking his smugness as confirmation that he was pathetic. Everyone won!

... Except for how Sarah was now worried she'd slept with someone pathetic. She had standards, you know!

So she was going to just flip him off, now.

For that? The blanket was dropped and he was just going to strut around like he owned the place. "Love you too, baby."

Sarah mimed throwing up. What, wasn't like she could've been more mature as a teenager than she was in her thirties.

"In your dreams, ginger," she drawled, gathering up a blanket of her own around herself, feeling exposed.

It was all because she thought he was soooo hot. Yeah. That's true. Check it out. "Ginger? Really?"

"What?" 'Wot'. Seriously, her voice was less raspy but the accent was so making up for it in droves. "It's what you are."

"Wot?" Guy mimicked badly. Because teenage them were so mature. "Wot?"

Her father was Scottish and her mother was from the Midlands. She'd never even had a chance when it came to not ending up with a distinctive accent, poor girl.

She was waiting for him to get within zapping distance of just about any piece of electronics, oh yes she was.

"'Least I'm not some dumb American."

"Why? Because I don't want tea?" Yeah, he didn't know much about England.

Sarah scoffed at that. "What an insightful comeback. Thanks for confirming your status as an uneducated prick."

"Oh, excuse me, your majesty!" Maturity was overrated.

Sarah pointed a finger at him. "Hey, compared to you, buddy ––-" That was a really bad attempt at an Americn accent, but he had no room to talk. "–– I am bleeding royalty!"

"I don't want to be royalty!" True story. "Because then I'd be snooty like you!"

"Yeah well I don't see you having minded that before!"

Not that she wanted to acknowledge that anything had happened.

"God, could you be any more of a fucking annoying little shit?"

"I dunno, could you be more bitchy?"

It was true love here, folks.

"Oh, I'll show you bitchy," Sarah replied, and pointed at... something on a nearby table. She wasn't quite sure what it was, but she knew it had to be electronic.

(It was actually her cell phone.)

"Pick that up."

Just do it, Guy. Nothing bad could possibly happen to you if you do!

Guy picked up the object in question, frowning at it.

"The--pager?" It was a pager, right?

Enh, close enough for their generation. Sarah looked positively wicked, right before her voice was all static-y.

"|Electronic doodah, shock him|."

She didn't need to know what it was specifically called or how it worked when all she wanted was to give him a nice little jolt.
