MCA #5, Thursday Afternoon
May. 3rd, 2012 06:46 pmThis time difference thing was a great source of headaches, Sarah could tell you. See, she'd skipped town early on Monday for a quick trip back to good ol' London Town (after yelling over the phone at an SPA drone to say she hadn't been bloody exiled, she was still allowed to visit, was she not?) and spent a day there. She'd swung by her apartment, met up with Jenny, endured Jen's enthusiasm over the subject of her next class and insistance on helping her get some materials together, got some shopping done, and finally gone to the Fortress for a pint and some facetime with Don and Alex. And Devlin, though that had been less intentional and more just a necessary evil. She'd even gone by the crummy corner store to lay claim to some of those cigarettes she was supposed to have a lifetime supply of. The owner still smelled like eggs, she was less than pleased to report.
And then she'd come back to Fandom to find it was already Thursday. Sigh. And the afternoon, not even evening yet, so now she had portal lag to contend with, too. She just hoped she wasn't going to fall asleep in the early evening like some granny. That would just be embarrassing. She didn't even have the cats for it.
She unloaded a six pack of Shazamstell (Stateside beers were okay, but you had to support the industry at home) and a few other alcoholic beverages into the fridge, then got to unpacking the rest. She'd actually caved and brought some more personal crap with her, this time. Since she was going to be stuck here for another few months and all. More clothes, mainly. And okay, a few photos to pin to the fridge door (shut up). And then of course, there were the comic books and trading cards and old issues of New Power Express and tapes of Power Hour and what-fucking-ever else Jen had managed to dig up to "liven up the classroom" or something.
With most of the stuff unpacked, or at least strewn about the living room, Sarah slumped on her couch with a sigh to start flipping through a random issue of NPR. It wasn't preparation for class. It was just seeing what pointless bollocks she'd missed while being away.
[ooc: Largely 'stablishy but can be open too, I guess, since I'm arooound.]
