Sarah? Still in London. Still at the Fortress. The biggest change was that last night she'd actually slept over at Jenny's, because Don was starting to get sick of her sharing his space. Oh, and she'd stopped a mugging yesterday, when she'd been out buying cigarettes. Nothing grandiose but she figured she'd at least get a mention in New Power Express for it.

Like she figured she should have probably been considering a trip back to Fandom, what with tomorrow being the final session of Wild Roving and all. But she was kind of dreading that.

So, right now she figured it was still time to sit in the same old booth with her friends, and finish this bottle of Green Lamp Ale. Which she was not drinking for any significant reason whatsoever, so kindly shut your gob before she shuts its for you.

"Only good things," he replied. Then remembered who would have told them about him. "Relatively speaking."

Don's snort said that may have been a very, very relative 'relatively speaking'.

And Sarah chose to actually acknowledge his presence by looking up. Although just barely. And cradling her bottle of beer kind of protectively for no reason at all. "How the fuck did you even find me?"

Sarah, it's not that hard.

Guy tapped the gaudy green ring on his hand with his thumb. "All kinds of useful."

Sarah rolled her eyes. "Can I talk to you at the bar for a second?"

Because moving away from her friends was totally the smart thing to do here, right. Because no one else at the bar knew her.

Except everyone.

Well, at least they weren't doing this on Oa. Or Mogo. He'd make an excellent couples therapist by the way.

"Course."

Sarah got up and gave his shoulder a little shove towards the bar where a tall, bald Viking of a man was keeping watch. (Jenny found something to coo at even about the shoving. What.)

"Can't believe you fucking tracked me down."

She actually sounded like she wasn't sure whether she hated or liked that.

"What was I supposed to do, knit socks waitin' for your return?" Yes, Guy. That was exactly what you should do.

Snort. "Well, that would've been more hilarious."

"I'll get to work on learnin'," Guy snarked, lifting his hand toward the bartender in hopes of getting a beer.

Norse Dave the bartender wandered over with mildly raised eyebrows. They didn't get that many new faces at this pub.

"I don't think we have any of your generic American piss over here," Sarah contributed.

"Natty's the only beer that matters," he shot back just to be contrary.

"I dunno what that is but it sounds horrible," Sarah told him mock sweetly, before glancing at the barman. "Give him a Shazamstell please, Norsey."

This was her turf so yeah, she was going to order for him.

Guy rolled his eyes, leaning against the bar top. "You gonna keep hiding here?"

"I'm not hiding." That wasn't defensive at all. "This is my home."

Yes, Guy. This cape bar.

"Yeah, real homey," he shot back. "Add a throw pillow or two and it'll be great."

"Hey, I've been coming here for a long time," she pointed out. "More than can be said for anywhere in Fandom."

And to be fair, the seat in the booth she'd just been sitting in probably had just the slightest hint of her ass print worn into it by now.

"So, you're just gonna stay here then." Look at that frown, Sarah. Look at it!

You know, she'd actually prefer not looking at it? But that wasn't going to stop her from saying stupid things.

"Would it matter if I did?"

"You do have a job, you know." AND HE WOULD MISS YOU.

He really should say that out loud, though. HOW ELSE WAS SHE SUPPOSED TO KNOW?

"Sparkle could take care of the final," she scoffed. "And I barely see any kids during my office hour. 'Sides, I stopped a mugging yesterday. That's part of my job, too."

DAMN IT, EMOTIONS. "So, you're gonna just stay here 'cause you were greyscale for a while there?"

Oh yeah, her expression turned immediately a little more sour.

"Don't forget the teenager bit," she drawled.

Yeah, how weird was this conversation to outsiders?

"Yeah, that too."

Well, it probably helped that they had a lot of conversations about people with names like Slicefist all the time?

"And the fight."

"Because of the teenager thing," Guy replied. "You gonna run every time we fight?"
