MCA #5, Saturday Morning
As far as Sarah was concerned, this was a perfectly ordinary Saturday. She'd slept in late, had some brekkie, was lounging around on the couch with something mindless on the telly. And considering the way last Saturday had gone – she felt like she'd only just recuperated from the hangover, if not the mental fallout of it all – she thought this one should just stay a quiet one.
In fact, she had half a mind to just stay in her pajamas all day.

Or she was so unknown that she might as well not have done anything at all. One of those.

Part of Guy wished he'd asked her to come with him when he left. But that shit wouldn't have been fair to either of them. even less than how it did end.
"You happy here?"

Once or thrice, over the years.
There was the mandatory cynical little snort at the question. Then she looked at the TV (or, away, was the point). "Place has its ups and downs."

So London wasn't that great, either. (Also, it didn't really feel like home anymore, and she didn't know what to do with it.)
Also, you know what? She was just going to cuddle up against his side, now. If she was going to have to deal with the inevitable heartache of it all later, she might as well try and benefit from him actually being there now.
She did it slowly, though. Maybe it was an incredibly half-hearted attempt at playing it like she was just shifting that way by accident.

"Like, a spa or dumb ass trust falls?"

He'd met her. So he'd know how well that had gone over with her.
She wrinkled her nose.

"It was, so stop laughing."
That was one annoyed hair-ruffle he got.

Goddamn it, he was still so far gone on her.

She rolled her eyes again. "They said beer was bad for your chakras. So I told them what they could do with theirs."

"And centering yourself. As if I'm not centered!"
She really was not.

Also, did he know how terrible it was to be looking at his face from this close a proximity? Especially when he was smiling? Because it was. Very terrible. Goddammit.

Guy bit the inside of his cheek to keep from saying some stupid shit about how nice she looked.

Which might've given her something else to do than watch him while debating with several conflicting urges she was having.
He was warm and she was very aware of that.

The way she didn't, really. There was being a hero the way she and her friends and, God, even Devlin were, and then there was actually feeling like making a difference.
"And you're supposed to."
