MCA #5, Sunday Evening
Date night was not something that had happened in this apartment a ton. Not in... well, several years now. Even Sarah and her cynicism had to admit it was exciting, a little.
Not that it was a very seriously date-y date. Nor had she done much in preparation for it, except pick a shirt that had more than enough cleavage happening. She'd just made sure there wasn't too much unseemly clutter happening anywhere Kanan was likely to be, and that she was stacked on both booze and snacks.
And she was.
So now, she was just waiting for him to turn up.
[ooc: For that guy! And probable SP, omg.]

He'd brought an offering of rum, too, mostly because she'd approved of it last night, and he wasn't about to make her provide all of the drinks for the evening.
One last moment taken to run a hand over his hair to make sure he was something vaguely resembling presentable, and then he was knocking on Sarah's door. Truth be told, it had been some time since he'd done something resembling a date himself. And if he was being even more honest about it, his dating history had been... well... short. So if he was a bit excited himself, at least he was doing a decent job of keeping his cool about it.
Jedi: Not exactly dating professionals. But very good at keeping cool.

So, hey. This could be nice.
She even bothered to check herself in the mirror before she came to the door. Made sure her hair wasn't doing anything tragic, and to make sure her top was as trampy as it could be without being too much.
And then, she opened the door. "Hey."
no subject
Don't mind the way his smile got just slightly bigger, there. He was noticing the effects of the top. Kanan was an observant one.
"You look great."
no subject
"Thanks," she drawled, stepping aside to give him room to come in. "'S been a pretty uneventful day so far. Think that's about to change, though."
no subject
But hey, there was alcohol and there had been talk of 'other things,' so it would be difficult not to be. Not without actively trying. Maybe taking a nap on the couch. And he really wasn't here for that.

They had kind of left the whole agenda for the evening fairly open-ended. Which wasn't a bad thing, of course. It meant they could more or less set their own pace, here.

The apartment looked lived-in. Cosy, in its own understated way. "Drinks, conversation, and crisps?"
no subject
No. Never.

Had to be asked. She was mostly joking, but also, he didn't necessarily seem like the type.
It also gave her something to say as she went to get some glasses.

That sort of thing tended to happen when there were flamethrowers involved. Kanan had to hand it to Dr. Lecter; the man had an interesting idea of what a wedding entailed.
"I'm probably overdue for a shopping trip, where that sort of thing is concerned. It's starting to get cooler, I've noticed. And hell if I know what winter's like here."
no subject
That was ever so helpful, really. But, she brought some glasses over, along with the rum. She plopped herself down on the other end of the couch before opening the bottle.
"The fuck happened the first time you wore your fancy clothes, though?"
no subject
"Somebody had a really rough first wedding attempt. There was fire involved. I've stopped going to the follow-up tries, but I hear it's become a bit of a saga."
no subject
She poured two glasses of rum. To start with. "Didn't know any of our folks even tried getting married."
... Showed how much attention she paid to anything.
no subject
"I don't know one of them very well, but there was an open bar," be confessed. "Doctor Lecter and his fiance, cementing for me the idea that marriage is probably more trouble than it's worth."
Or at least the wedding part. Kanan shrugged.
"In any case, it did a number on the wardrobe."
Which hadn't been all that impressive to start with.
no subject
A beat.
"I should hope, anyway."
no subject
Or probably ever. Kanan was not the marrying type.
"I mean, you're great so far, but we've had, what, forty minutes of conversation combined, to date? Maybe almost an hour, if we're being generous."

It was much harder to flee a planet when you had a wife there, he was sure.
no subject
She tilted her head a little. "So you'v flown around space a lot, I take it?"
Look, she'd identified him as a space boy on first meeting. It made sense to assume when he failed to settle down, he didn't necessarily just move from place to place on the same planet.
no subject
And he'd only been on the island since the start of summer.
no subject
She looked amused.
"And you've been here for what? Two weeks?"
no subject
'Home' being a very broad term when you didn't tend to stay anywhere for more than two months at a time.
no subject
'Home' wasn't really that simple of a concept for her, either.
no subject
He had no complaints about that. He could have a hangover from hell the day after and still drag himself back to his own apartment relatively easily, after all.
